MISDEMEANOR CRIMINAL DEFENSE

Misdemeanors are classified in two groups: Simple Misdemeanors and Gross Misdemeanors.  Misdemeanors are held in either Municipal, State or Federal Courts in Washington.


Simple Misdemeanors have a maximum penalty of  90 days in Jail and a $1,000.00 fine.  Examples of Simple Misdemeanors are Driving While License Suspended 3rd Degree,  Disorderly Conduct, Possessing a Fake ID as a minor.


Gross misdemeanors have a maximum penalty of 364 days in Jail and a $5,000.00 fine.  Examples of Gross Misdemeanors are DUI, Reckless Driving, Hit and Run, Assault 4th Degree, Theft in the 3rd Degree, Trespassing, Minor in Possession, Harrassment.
